Job description

The Full Stack Software Engineer II role at Microsoft involves working on the Bing GenAI team, focusing on AI-powered search and user experiences. This position allows engineers to engage with both backend and frontend systems, contributing to the development of features for Microsoft Copilot and Bing. Engineers will build modern C#-based service layers and create responsive user interfaces using various frameworks. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience with React or similar modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Experience with native mobile application development (iOS with Swift and/or Android with Kotlin).
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, large language models, or prompt engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Work with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of features.
  • Contribute to the identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product area with little oversight.
  • Create and implement code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable.
  • Contribute to efforts to break down larger work items into smaller work items and provide estimation.
  • Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) working on-call to monitor system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions.
  • Remain current in skills by investing time and effort into staying abreast of current developments that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products.
