Job description
The Apple Audio Hardware Reliability Engineering team is seeking an engineer to enhance the durability and reliability of audio products. This role involves collaborating with various engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle, from concept to field returns. The engineer will focus on developing and implementing reliability tests, analyzing results, and advising the executive team on improvements. A passion for innovative engineering and continuous learning is essential for success in this position.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required
- 3+ years of experience performing product characterization including mechanical stress tests, shock/drop/vibration testing, and environmental testing
- 3+ years of experience in Systems Reliability
- Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and curiosity about how technologies work
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Statistical experience such as Weibull, JMP, or familiarity with accelerated test models
- Familiarity with Failure Analysis techniques such as Optical Microscopy, X-ray/CT, and Scanning Electron Microscopy/Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy
- Ability to travel internationally
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement creative reliability tests on new hardware programs
- Quantify reliability risk and support failure analysis resulting from tests
- Prepare concise and detailed test plans and analyze test reports
- Leverage statistical analysis to provide comprehensive design risk assessments
- Present tests, results, and findings confidently to management and executive teams
- Continuously research new technologies to understand unique failure mechanisms
- Guide design decisions and collaborate with cross-functional groups to improve product reliability
