Job description
The Product Integrity group is looking for a System Validation Software Engineer to validate and debug future products. This role is part of the OS Diagnostics team, focusing on crafting and maintaining software for characterizing, calibrating, and testing novel hardware. The engineer will work closely with various teams, including EE, Systems Engineering, and Hardware Testing, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Proficiency in writing and debugging software across diverse hardware platforms is essential for success in this position.
Requirements
- BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 4 - 5 years of validated experience in a similar role.
- Experience with Python, Lua, or Bash.
- Understanding and experience with ARM platform and architecture/instruction set.
- Experience with standard hardware protocols such as USB, UART, SPI, I2C, I2S, PCIe, MIPI, LPDP.
- Experience developing drivers or applications in Unix, Linux, or MacOS.
- MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Familiarity with C++, Objective-C, or Swift.
- Experience with debuggers such as gdb or lid.
- Ability to comprehend hardware specs and schematics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop firmware and drivers for common firmware interfaces and chipsets.
- Implement features to support hardware testing and diagnosis of devices.
- Help with new technology exploration and proof of concept development.
- Debug software and hardware independently and multi-functionally.
- Collaborate with various teams within the company and with contract manufacturers.
