Job description
The Power and Performance (PnP) Engineer role focuses on the execution of PnP products, emphasizing measurements, analysis, and projections of Intel's upcoming notebook and desktop products. The engineer will work closely with OEM customers, internal marketing, and engineering teams to debug Intel silicon/platform issues and support product launches. This position requires a strong technical background and the ability to influence various stakeholders regarding power and performance metrics. The role is part of the Client Computing Group, which aims to enhance computing experiences across various form factors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 1+ years of experience.
- Familiarity with ITP/JTAG scripts and board bring-up.
- Experience with power measurements using DAQ.
- Knowledge of industry benchmarks such as Procyon, SPEC CPU, and Geekbench.
- Experience in a post-silicon environment.
Responsibilities
- Measure, analyze, and debug workloads to identify power and performance gaps.
- Analyze SoC/CPU and platform power on a rail-by-rail basis and debug any issues.
- Align with internal engineering teams to ensure consensus on power and performance projections.
- Educate and influence internal teams on power and performance positioning of Intel products.
- Create power and performance estimates for upcoming Intel products to aid marketing decisions.
- Own the publication of the Power Performance Guide collateral for OEM customers.
- Set up and calibrate full test platforms for power and performance measurements.
