The Test Platform team at Apple is seeking an exceptional software engineer to enhance their innovative infrastructure and tools that execute billions of tests for internal engineering teams. The role focuses on building developer tools and production platform services while applying intelligence to test selection, execution, and resource scheduling. • 6+ years of software engineering experience building, deploying, or maintaining developer tools, build/test platform infrastructure, or production platform services.
• Strong programming skills, preferably in Swift or a similar language.
• Experience building, deploying, or maintaining developer tools, production web services, or CI/CD infrastructure.
• Experience with different testing types and approaches.
• Experience owning features from conception to release and troubleshooting production issues.
• BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with Xcode, Swift Package Manager, or Apple's developer toolchain.
• Experience building or contributing to build or test execution infrastructure.
• Experience applying data-driven or intelligent techniques to test selection, resource management, or other optimization problems.
• Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) or experience applying them to real-world engineering problems.
• Positive and respectful attitude in a diverse environment.

• Analyze requirements, constraints, and existing foundational elements to inform high-level architectural solutions.
• Combine creative problem solving with data-driven approaches to identify opportunities for smarter test execution.
• Collaborate closely with the team to implement identified solutions while developing appropriate testing and operational mechanisms.
• Drive constructive discussions of design points and advocate for best practices within the team.
