The role is part of the Apple AIML Evaluation team, which focuses on enabling rapid innovation of machine learning-driven product features. The team operates a large-scale distributed Annotation platform that generates high-quality data for Apple intelligence products. As a member of this team, you will work alongside skilled engineers to build reliable backend systems while ensuring user privacy. • MS in Computer Science, Distributed Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field is required.
• Strong computer science fundamentals in system design, object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms are essential.
• A minimum of 6 years of professional software engineering experience is preferred.
• Experience with server-side programming languages, particularly Java and Go, is required, with Python being a plus.
• Strong knowledge of database systems and data modeling, with hands-on experience in SQL, NoSQL, and OLAP data stores is necessary.
• Experience with cloud-based infrastructure, preferably AWS, and hybrid ecosystems is required.
• Experience with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code is a plus.
• Experience shipping scalable microservices, distributed systems, and web services at massive scale is essential.
• Familiarity with test-driven development, continuous integration, and delivery is required.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills are necessary.
