Job description
The Project Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring site and office safety while assisting the Project Manager and team members in project planning and administration. This position focuses on completing work on time and within budget while adhering to quality standards. Project Engineers gain hands-on experience and training, positioning them for growth within the organization. They are involved in various aspects of project management, including tracking performance and coordinating bid schedules.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
- Typically, two years of construction experience, including industry internships.
- Basic knowledge of contract formats, surveying, scheduling, drawings, and construction sequencing.
- Exposure to or ability to learn new programs such as MS Office, WinEst, OST, and Bluebeam.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and other BIM software is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Promote and adhere to safety best practices on the jobsite.
- Assist the Project Manager and team members in planning, coordination, and administration of assigned projects.
- Review specifications and identify all required submittals, preparing submittal schedules and communicating scope changes.
- Review all trade specific RFIs for potential cost and/or schedule impact.
- Review and update project schedules with the Project Manager and Superintendent.
- Track weekly trade performance against project schedules and review delay logs.
- Coordinate the development of the bid schedule and distribute bid packages.
- Address bidder inquiries and ensure comprehensive bid proposal evaluation.
