Job description

This role involves designing and developing solutions for Aurora DSQL's BOM team, which focuses on distributed systems at hyperscale. The team addresses challenges such as metering transactions, building observability systems, and capacity forecasting. Candidates will work primarily in Rust and utilize CDK for cloud infrastructure. This position offers the opportunity to influence the future of database technology at Amazon.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and testing
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
  • Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience programming in Rust

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and deliver high-performance data and transaction processing algorithms and solutions.
  • Participate in design discussions and code reviews while communicating with stakeholders.
  • Deploy and monitor new features in a highly available and fault tolerant cloud system.
  • Work cross-functionally to drive business decisions with technical input.
  • Mentor junior engineers and enhance team productivity.
