Job description

The Endpoint Detection Engineer at KLA will serve as a subject matter expert for enterprise endpoint detection platforms, focusing on configuration, tuning, and lifecycle management. This role is part of the Cybersecurity group, which is dedicated to defending against cyber-attacks and safeguarding KLA's intellectual property. The engineer will work closely with the SOC and IT Security teams to align detection capabilities with operational workflows. The position emphasizes continuous improvement and proactive evolution of security measures to address emerging threats.

Requirements

  • Five years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, with at least two years focused on EDR/XDR and EPM platform administration and engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise with one or more enterprise security platforms including policy management and agent configuration.
  • Solid understanding of endpoint attack techniques, threat actor TTPs, and the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
  • Experience leading endpoints across Windows and macOS in large enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

  • Own the design, configuration, and ongoing optimization of the enterprise EDR and EPM platforms across various operating systems.
  • Define and author endpoint hardening standards, detection policies, and response baselines aligned with industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with detection engineers to develop and refine endpoint-based detections mapped to MITRE ATT&CK techniques.
  • Assist in endpoint-related security incident investigations and contribute to proactive threat hunting missions.
  • Identify and resolve complex performance and interoperability issues between endpoint agents and other security tools.
