Job description

KLA is seeking Regional Development Applications Engineers to support product evaluations and develop solutions for gap defect detection and process optimization in the semiconductor industry. This role is based in Boise, Idaho, and requires candidates to cultivate expertise in KLA equipment and semiconductor manufacturing processes. The position involves managing projects, resolving production issues, and training customers and new application engineers. Successful candidates will also communicate technological advancements to marketing and engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree with no related work experience, Master's degree with 3 years of related work experience, or Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related work experience.
  • Prior experience in semiconductor process technology is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills are essential.
  • Flexibility for international travel up to 25% is required.

Responsibilities

  • Own projects related to recipe setups and optimization.
  • Resolve critical production issues at customer fabrication sites.
  • Train customers and new application engineers on KLA equipment.
  • Manage regional customer escalations and facilitate product demonstrations.
  • Conduct competitive technology assessments and support pre-sale and post-sale activities.
  • Characterize next-generation systems through design of experiments and data analysis.
