Job description

The Engineering Manager for Capacity Management at Google Fleet will lead a team of engineers to design and implement a resource distribution ecosystem. This role involves managing large-scale projects and optimizing resource management through intelligent automation. The manager will work across multiple teams and locations, contributing to product strategy while ensuring technical excellence. The position is critical for enhancing resource obtainability and inventory efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of a resource distribution ecosystem.
  • Ensure user intent is captured as structured artifacts to guide autonomous agents.
  • Take on high-impact challenges at the intersection of large-scale distributed systems and policy enforcement.
  • Collaborate with partner teams across all Product Areas to define requirements.
  • Coach and grow engineers on the team while fostering a culture of technical excellence.
