Job description

Uber is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Incentive Platform team, which is crucial to maintaining driver and courier engagement through effective incentive mechanisms. The role involves tackling complex engineering challenges related to high-scale distributed processing, micro-services, and machine learning infrastructure. As part of this team, you will help evolve systems and drive efficiency in Uber's incentive ecosystem. Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience working on the full software life cycle including requirements gathering, project planning, solution design, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Experience coding using a general-purpose programming language such as C/C++, Java, Python, Go, or C#.
  • Strong collaboration, documentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and build software solutions for capacity planning and management to scale Uber's infrastructure.
  • Design end-to-end features and systems for high-quality consumer-facing products.
  • Write code, test, and maintain production services for high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with ML engineers and scientists to develop ML models that enhance product performance.
  • Work with Product Managers to understand product requirements and lead rollout plans.
  • Mentor junior team members and support their development.
  • Collaborate with teammates to maintain system health, refactor code, and improve system robustness.
