The Water Resources Design Engineer / Design Manager role at Jacobs focuses on leading the delivery of innovative water resource projects. This position requires a strong technical background and involves collaboration with Project Managers and engineers to ensure project success. The team is dedicated to designing sustainable water infrastructure that benefits communities. Candidates will work in a hybrid setup, balancing office and remote work while contributing to impactful projects across the West Central region and beyond.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Colorado or the ability to transfer registration from another state.
- At least 8 years of engineering design experience, including at least 2 years managing coordination between subconsultants and multidiscipline engineering teams.
- Understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, or similar.
- Experience with design software, including AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications.
Responsibilities
- Manage the design of stormwater improvements and critical water resources infrastructure.
- Oversee hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, floodplain studies, and stormwater management planning.
- Provide quality construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Support construction activities, including submittal reviews and site inspections.
- Guide and manage the design team, including internal staff and subconsultants.
- Assist project managers with project management duties and act as a key client contact.
