Job description
The Traffic/ITS Engineer will join Jacobs' Florida & Puerto Rico group, focusing on innovative transportation solutions. This role involves collaborating with a diverse team of transportation planners and engineers to develop plans and specifications for intelligent transportation systems. The engineer will apply their expertise to large-scale infrastructure projects, addressing future transportation demands while contributing to decarbonization efforts. The position offers a hybrid work environment, allowing flexibility between office and remote work.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Professional Engineer License in the State of Florida, or the ability to obtain a license within 6 months.
- 4+ years of relevant experience in traffic operational analysis and design.
- Strong technical writing and oral communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel for site visits.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of plans, specifications, and estimates for intelligent transportation systems.
- Conduct traffic signal design, traffic studies, and other traffic engineering tasks.
- Collaborate with internal and external clients to deliver project outcomes.
- Utilize CADD/MicroStation for design tasks as needed.
- Engage in the design of ITS system construction plans for device placement and communications.
