The Infrastructure Automation Engineer will be part of the Compute and Storage Engineering team, responsible for automating the provisioning, deployment, scaling, and monitoring of Bloomberg's compute and storage infrastructure platforms. The team focuses on managing storage infrastructure and server needs across various internal businesses. This role emphasizes automation, telemetry, and model-driven infrastructure as code, while collaborating with various internal teams to enhance deployment solutions. The engineer will also implement innovative technologies and promote modern software development practices.

• 4+ years of experience working with an object-oriented programming language such as C/C++, Python, or Java.
• A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a similar field of study, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in infrastructure automation or orchestration frameworks like Ansible, Airflow, Terraform, Chef, or Salt.
• Experience building tools that automate and integrate with API REST and traditional IT infrastructure components.
• A strong familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines such as Jenkins or Kubernetes.
• Experience with DevOps methodologies and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) automation tools like Terraform or Puppet.
• Experience driving the full software creation process.
• The ability to take ownership and responsibility of issues and handle them effectively to resolution.
• An honest approach to problem-solving and the ability to collaborate with peers, stakeholders, and management.

• Automate the full compute and storage platform lifecycle, including provisioning, configuration, observability, testing, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.
• Develop and maintain software tools to manage large-scale, multi-vendor compute and storage platforms.
• Write software utilizing orchestration systems to automate tasks and interact with other systems.
• Implement innovative technologies and automate workflows.
• Craft CI/CD automation pipelines.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Engineers, Developers, and Operations to improve automation and deployment solutions.
