Job description
As a Mission Critical Mechanical Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) at Arcadis, you will provide technical expertise to both internal teams and external clients, particularly in the data center sector. You will guide and mentor the engineering team, offering principal-level advice on system selection and market trends. Your role will involve client interactions, helping to build confidence in our teams and strategies. Some travel will be required for project site visits and client meetings.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 2 or more years of relevant experience in data center Mechanical Engineering
- PE Registration is preferred
- 5 years' experience in Data Center / Mission Critical system design is preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist in client contact and finding opportunities to increase mission critical work.
- Provide expert mechanical engineering advice to clients in the data center space.
- Guide on industry standards and building codes as they apply to data centers.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, vendors, and contractors.
- Act as the point of contact for mechanical discipline in key decision discussions.
- Participate in all phases of a project from proposals through design and construction.
- Create thought leadership opportunities to expand Arcadis's brand in the data center market.
- Assist in preparing proposals, focusing on engineering approach and strategy.
- Travel as required for project meetings and collaboration with clients.
- Provide mentoring to staff.
