This full-time, on-site role focuses on managing various construction types, particularly a dam rehabilitation project in the Adirondack Park. The Resident Engineer will work closely with clients, engineers, and contractors to ensure successful project outcomes. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to significant water and wastewater infrastructure projects while ensuring compliance and safety.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience in construction management or construction inspection on civil works projects.
  • Familiarity with dam construction, heavy civil, and water/wastewater treatment facility construction.
  • Experience using MS SharePoint, MS Project, MS Office Suite, AutoDesk Construction Cloud, and PDF editing tools.

Responsibilities

  • Manage water, wastewater, and related infrastructure projects from pre-bid through completed construction phases.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the contractor and design staff to address RFIs and review shop drawings.
  • Provide technical reviews of construction plans, specifications, and project changes to ensure constructability.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping, process contractor payments, and draft field change orders.
  • Manage staff safety, regulatory compliance, and coordination with regulatory agencies.
  • Deliver timely inspection reports that meet client requirements while monitoring contractor performance.

Benefits

  • Employees at Arcadis are often offered a supportive, inclusive culture with internal mobility, extensive learning and development resources, and the flexibility to choose benefits that fit their needs (varying by country). Many roles also emphasize purpose and community—through sustainability initiatives, charitable programs like Shelter, and regular social and volunteer events—so people can grow their careers while making a positive impact.
