This full-time, field-based role focuses on ensuring effective communication and coordination between design and construction teams. The engineer will leverage their expertise in municipal infrastructure and water resilience facilities to oversee large-scale projects. The position emphasizes project safety, regulatory compliance, and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Active Professional Engineer license in New York
  • 15 years of experience in construction engineering
  • Experience with large-scale municipal water resiliency and flood protection projects
  • Proficiency with scheduling and CAD software
  • Professional certifications such as DBIA or CCM are highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary facilitator of communication and technical coordination between the design team and contractors.
  • Ensure seamless project execution through effective coordination, technical review, and oversight of project documentation.
  • Supervise construction management staff and maintain project safety, regulatory compliance, and quality standards.
  • Manage day-to-day communication and address field inquiries between Arcadis design teams and contractors.
  • Represent Arcadis in meetings with contractors, clients, local agencies, and community stakeholders.
  • Coordinate responses to contractor RFIs, review shop drawings, and organize periodic field visits.
  • Oversee the collection and management of field documentation and prepare reports and deliverables.
  • Monitor site safety and ensure compliance with permit conditions.

Benefits

  • Employees at Arcadis are often offered a supportive, inclusive culture with internal mobility, extensive learning and development resources, and the flexibility to choose benefits that fit their needs (varying by country).
