Job description

The Senior Autonomy Systems Validation Engineer at Rivian will focus on vehicle-level testing of Active Safety ADAS and Autonomy features. This role is part of the Autonomy Systems Validation team and involves collaboration with various teams including Functional Safety and Integration. The engineer will be responsible for planning, executing, and analyzing feature testing while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. A strong emphasis will be placed on troubleshooting and resolving software and hardware issues.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in ADAS, Autonomous Vehicles, Vehicle Testing, Vehicle Dynamics or a related field.
  • Experience with automotive architecture, electrical systems and communication protocols such as Ethernet, CAN, and XCP.
  • Proficiency in debugging tools like Vector CANalyzer, CANape, PCAN, and Vehicle Spy.
  • Experience with software integration, scripting tools, and the DVP process including JAMA, JIRA, Confluence, GIT, Python, Matlab, CAPL, and SQL.
  • Bachelor's degree in Automotive, Mechanical, Electrical, SW, Mechatronics, Robotics, Aerospace, Systems or Computer Science/Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, plan, execute and maintain ADAS, Autonomy, Functional Safety and SOTIF test plans and scenarios.
  • Operate robotic test equipment and ensure regulatory testing is executed to current and future requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware issues in collaboration with domain experts.
  • Analyze test data against internal requirements and communicate results and recommendations.
  • Support vehicle development builds, commissioning, and instrumentation installation.
