Rivian is seeking a Multibody Dynamics Engineer to join their Durability Loads team, focusing on engineering resilient electric vehicles. The role involves generating vehicle load data through advanced simulation methods, directly impacting design robustness. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience in automotive product development.
- Strong understanding of automotive system fundamentals.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Experience with MSC ADAMS/Car is preferred.
- Proficiency in Python, C/C++, and MATLAB scripting is preferred.
- Preferred experience includes FSAE/Baja SAE involvement.
- Experience generating flex bodies using CAE tools.
- Familiarity with Simpack, Carmaker, and nCode.
- Working knowledge of FEA Analysis toolsets such as ABAQUS, Nastran, Optistruct, and LSDyna.
- Experience with Atlassian tools like JAMA and JIRA.
Responsibilities
- Build, manage, and leverage high-fidelity multibody dynamics models for suspension, EV powertrain, and full-vehicle systems.
- Assist in validating and refining MBD models for accurate vehicle dynamics behavior.
- Contribute to the correlation process between full-vehicle virtual MBD and physical RLDA test data.
- Work with the vehicle durability testing team to ensure appropriate instrumentation for RLDA correlation.
- Partner with chassis and vehicle dynamics teams to ensure a coordinated approach to model building.
- Assist in generating comprehensive durability loads throughout the vehicle using MBD simulations.
- Create clear and informative reports to communicate simulation results to stakeholder teams.
- Collaborate with other functional groups to ensure synchronized product development and validation.
- Create and maintain simulation methods documentation to enhance team knowledge and efficiency.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to continuously enhance technical skills and understanding of MBD simulation techniques.
