JobsFEA Engineer
Job description
As a core member of the Product Design FEA team, you will leverage your expertise in mechanics and materials to drive the design of innovative products through predictive finite element simulation. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional design teams to define mechanical requirements and load cases. You will also be responsible for testing and validating new material models, ensuring the accuracy of simulations. Your contributions will directly impact the development of future Apple products.
Requirements
- M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Structural Engineering, or a similar discipline is required.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in finite element analysis.
- Strong knowledge of solid mechanics.
- Experience with Abaqus, ANSA, and META.
- Experience with system level modeling and simulation.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Drive the design of groundbreaking products using predictive finite element simulation.
- Build and run product models for important design load cases.
- Interact closely with the cross-functional design team to define new load cases and product level mechanical requirements.
- Help test, characterize, and develop new material models.
- Close the gaps between simulation and test with highly instrumented tests and rigorous validation.
Benefits
- Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
