Job description

This role involves taking ownership of Microsoft 365 service operations in sovereign cloud environments, focusing on availability and compliance. The candidate will deploy, monitor, and improve services across the M365 stack while building automation and driving operational excellence. The position is part of the M365 Sovereign Clouds organization, which ensures that government cloud customers have access to secure and reliable productivity tools. The team is committed to innovation, collaboration, and inclusion, directly impacting customer satisfaction and service quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and 4+ years of technical experience in software engineering or related areas.
  • Hands-on experience supporting complex IT environments with a strong understanding of system and service management challenges.
  • Experience operating in large distributed or air-gapped environments with a focus on reliability, security, and compliance.
  • Ability to build consensus and influence across teams to achieve common goals.
  • Recent experience with Azure or equivalent hyperscale cloud technologies.
  • Active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).

Responsibilities

  • Respond to incidents during regular on-call rotations, troubleshooting complex incidents and implementing automations for prevention.
  • Create, monitor, and take action on telemetry data to identify patterns that reveal errors affecting system performance.
  • Independently implement reliable, scalable, and high-performance solutions across teams while maintaining quality documentation.
  • Coordinate multiple work streams in crisis situations to drive mitigation plans and resolve issues effectively.
  • Collaborate within and across teams by sharing information and resolving conflicts to meet mutual objectives.
  • Monitor and maintain security by addressing vulnerabilities through patches and updates.
