The Senior Data Center Infrastructure Engineering (DCIE) Manager will lead a team of engineers responsible for data center designs across the U.S. Eastern Region. This role emphasizes safety, security, and efficiency while addressing AWS's growing demand for data center capacity. The manager will engage with various internal teams and external agencies to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations. This position offers the opportunity to influence design procedures and protocols for future systems.
Requirements
- Experience managing teams of 20 people or greater
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, Structural Engineering or equivalent field
- 5+ years of data center design, HVAC design, or related product development experience
- Professional Engineer License
Responsibilities
- Lead DC Infrastructure Engineering Design in AMER, including establishment design requirements for owned, leased facilities.
- Conceive, initiate, and lead projects with widespread impact on infrastructure design, innovation, and implementation.
- Set the standard for engineering, test, and best practices while driving process improvements across the organization.
- Decompose complex problems into straightforward and actionable solutions.
- Serve as a leader within the group as well as within internal and external teams that support data centers.
- Act as a technical advisor for AWS datacenter architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical or constructability designs.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand new rack cooling power and space requirements.
- Work with local agencies having jurisdiction and certification agencies to ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal requirements and building codes.
