Job description

The Electrical & Controls Engineer will serve as a technical contributor for electrical power systems and controls engineering within One MHS. This role focuses on the design, development, and implementation of electrical power distribution and control systems for material handling projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions while ensuring compliance with industry standards. The position emphasizes safety, scalability, and operational excellence in material handling capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
  • 4+ years of experience in electrical and controls design for industrial or material handling systems
  • Deep understanding of EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, and PROFINET communication protocols
  • Strong knowledge of VFD selection, programming, and interface design
  • Proficiency with IPCs, PLC programming, and SCADA system design
  • Extensive experience with sensor technologies, encoders, safety circuits, and safety devices
  • Thorough understanding of NEC (National Electrical Code) and its application to industrial installations
  • Experience with 3-phase and single-phase power distribution system design
  • Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Design all power and controls systems related to material handling projects.
  • Develop electrical layouts, schematics, control architectures, and panel standardization.
  • Design modular and scalable power distribution systems that prioritize reliability and performance.
  • Conduct in-field installation audits to verify compliance with design specifications and NEC code.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver fully integrated solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior electrical and controls engineers.
  • Develop and maintain electrical and controls design standards and best practices.
  • Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and startup activities as needed.
