Job description

The Sensing Systems team at Apple is seeking electrical engineers to develop next-generation touch sensing technologies. This role involves integrating various sensor technologies across Apple products like the Apple Watch and iPhone. Candidates should have a strong background in analog and board-level design, with a focus on capacitive front-ends and touch sensors. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to enhance product design and manufacturability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Experience with analog, board-level design and capacitive front-ends is strongly desired.
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as microscopes and detectors is necessary.
  • Scripting experience for data analysis and automation is preferred.
  • Experience in COMSOL, SPICE, or similar simulation and modeling tools is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Strong teamwork abilities and self-motivation to tackle technical challenges are necessary.
  • MS or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and launch next-generation touch sensing technologies.
  • Analyze data to draw conclusions and enhance product design and manufacturability.
  • Drive failure analysis and support volume manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers, Process Engineers, Reliability Engineers, Test Engineers, and Software Engineers.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
