This role is focused on data center design and engineering within AWS, where you will collaborate with various teams to assess and select colocation facilities that meet business requirements. You will leverage your expertise in data center operations and infrastructure to influence design standards and improve processes on a global scale. • 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience
• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
• Experience in researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities
• Professional Engineering or Architectural License
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region

• Conduct site assessments against AWS standards for colocation data centers and legacy facility upgrades
• Perform risk analysis and availability calculations for vendor owned and operated colocation data center infrastructure
• Influence AWS design and specification requirements to meet business needs for colocation products
• Investigate and document root-cause failure analysis associated with infrastructure and equipment failures
• Work with vendors and local agencies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal requirements and codes
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and commissioning teams to test and validate critical systems
• Support operations and data scientists in determining utilization, efficiency, and performance analysis on critical systems
• Travel to data center sites as required, both internationally and domestically, up to 50%
