Job description
The Applied Scientist II role at Microsoft focuses on designing, developing, and deploying AI models within the Teams media stack. This position involves collaboration with AI researchers and audio signal processing experts to enhance real-time conversation products. The team aims to improve human-human and human-AI interactions through advanced machine learning systems. The role requires being onsite three days a week in Redmond, WA, and contributes to the research community by publishing findings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years related experience.
- OR Master's Degree in the same fields AND 1+ year(s) related experience.
- OR Doctorate in the same fields or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in development/deployment of machine learning algorithms.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with AI researchers and audio signal processing experts to design and build end-to-end machine learning systems.
- Design and develop machine learning pipelines involving data cleaning, feature engineering, model training, and evaluation.
- Work across the product lifecycle from prototyping to shipping production-grade code optimized for performance and memory.
- Update deployed models based on A/B testing.
- Remain up to date with the latest advancements, trends, and research and contribute towards the IP portfolio.
