The role is for a server performance leader within AWS hardware engineering, focusing on enhancing server hardware and software engineering. You will work on complex challenges, ensuring servers operate at peak performance while managing thermal budgets. The team is diverse, consisting of engineers and specialists who collaborate to deliver high standards of safety and security. This position offers an intellectually stimulating environment where innovative ideas are encouraged and developed to completion.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related discipline
- 5+ years of experience identifying and root-causing hardware and software issues in large scale systems
- 5+ years of experience with customer support for debugging and root-causing CPU performance issues
- 5+ years of experience in CPU/memory architecture and subsystem design
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience with new CPU technology bring up
- 5+ years of experience with statistical analysis using large scale data
- 5+ years of experience leading memory standardization through JEDEC, CPU architecture, RAS, DDR Memory technology, system performance, security and troubleshooting
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Responsibilities
- Work on Amazon's hardest problems, building high quality, architecturally sound systems aligned with AWS business needs
- Interact with internal and external interdisciplinary teams of engineers to design, develop, validate, launch, monitor and troubleshoot at large scale
- Ensure servers are operating at maximum performance while staying within thermal budgets
- Collaborate closely with CPU/GPU suppliers to align and influence roadmaps and drive future architectures
