Job description
The Principal Software Engineer will join the Microsoft Garage Team to build Innovation Studio, a product integrated with Teams that facilitates high-impact hackathons and accelerates ideas. This role focuses on leading the architecture and delivery of product capabilities using modern web experiences, Azure services, and AI workflows. The engineer will work on agentic software engineering patterns and integrations with Microsoft tools. The position emphasizes collaboration and innovation to drive measurable business outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience is preferred.
- Experience designing agent orchestration systems and tool-using AI agents.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure services such as Azure AI Foundry and Azure Functions.
- Experience integrating with GitHub, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD systems.
- Demonstrated ability to simplify complex technical problems and influence architecture across teams.
Responsibilities
- Create new artificial intelligence tools and practices to improve the software development lifecycle.
- Oversee and establish procedures for managing dependencies in high-impact projects.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to set product strategy.
- Establish policies for developing secure and maintainable code.
- Provide technical leadership to ensure compliance requirements are met.
