Job description

As a Senior Research Engineer, you will be part of a team focused on enhancing human-agent interactions through research-driven solutions. Your work will involve innovating human oversight and management of autonomous agents to streamline business processes. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to build scalable AI systems and contribute to the future of human-AI collaboration. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years related experience.
  • OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years related experience.
  • OR Doctorate in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) related experience.
  • 4+ years experience developing and deploying live production systems as part of a product team.
  • 4+ years experience developing and deploying products or systems at multiple points in the product cycle from ideation to shipping.

Responsibilities

  • Gain expertise in one or more subareas and experience in a broad area of research.
  • Identify product needs by sharing the latest industry trends and applied technologies.
  • Review business requirements and incorporate research to meet business goals.
  • Provide strategic direction for the kinds of data used to solve problems.
  • Participate in onboarding of other team members and assist in developing academics.
  • Identify new research talent to join Microsoft and collaborate with the academic community.
  • Document work in progress and experimentation results and share findings.
  • Contribute to ethics and privacy policies related to research processes and data collection.
