As a Fleet Remediation Project Design Electrical Engineer at AWS, you will lead design projects in operational data centers to remediate issues, upgrade existing infrastructure, or add new services. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure the highest standards for safety and security while meeting customer needs. This role focuses on increasing capacity utilization and reducing power consumption in data centers as AWS continues to expand. You will also have the opportunity to work on innovative projects globally.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
- Experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities, especially data centers
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
- Experience managing engineering projects and engineering consultants
- Strong engineering judgment and ability to provide design recommendations despite uncertainty
Responsibilities
- Lead design projects for data center upgrades and new infrastructure solutions
- Prepare and review short circuit coordination studies and maintain software models
- Interface with internal and external engineering teams to promote standards
- Manage design and as-built drawings and documents
- Prepare and present progress reports to stakeholders
- Support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover of projects
- Work on concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions
