Job description

The Reliability Test Engineer will join the Apple Reliability Lab team, which focuses on testing the durability and longevity of Apple's prototype hardware designs. This role supports Reliability and Product Development Engineers by providing data to inform design choices for mass production. The engineer will evaluate new materials under various real-world scenarios, ensuring both cosmetic and functional integrity. Attention to detail and strong communication skills are essential for success in this collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science, or five years equivalent experience
  • Experience working in a Reliability or materials testing lab
  • Exceptional attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with color measurement equipment such as spectrophotometers
  • Proficient in MacOS, iOS, and Apple hardware

Responsibilities

  • Utilize collaborative skills to evaluate new materials in various scenarios
  • Set up test equipment and fixtures for durability testing
  • Collect data and analyze results from testing procedures
  • Support all materials testing with a focus on cosmetic and functional failures
  • Apply creativity and technical skills to solve complex problems
