Job description

As a Silicon Reliability Engineer at Google, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of new consumer electronic products. You will collaborate closely with product management and design engineering teams to define reliability standards and oversee testing and failure analysis. Your expertise in semiconductor device physics and reliability testing will be essential in qualifying Integrated Circuits (ICs) to industry standards. This position is part of the Platforms and Devices team, which focuses on innovative technologies that enhance user experiences across various computing environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in logic Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) device and package reliability Joint Electron Device Engineering Council (JEDEC) qualification.
  • Experience in semiconductor device physics, transistor reliability, and CMOS technology and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Define custom silicon Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) reliability specifications based on Joint Electron Device Engineering Council (JEDEC) standards.
  • Execute Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) product reliability qualification tests, including High Temperature Operating Life (HTOL) and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD).
  • Utilize statistical methods and failure analysis to estimate System-on-Chip (SOC) life times and evaluate CMOS technology reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional internal and external teams, including CMOS foundries and third-party qualification facilities.
