Job description

The Systems Engineer role within Amazon's Robotics Delivery & Packaging Innovations (RDPI) team focuses on deploying industrial robotics across North America's fulfillment network. This position involves overseeing large-scale project planning, installation, and launch of automation technologies. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in deploying robotic equipment and will work closely with cross-functional partners. This travel-based role requires significant collaboration and project management to ensure successful technology integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent STEM field
  • 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
  • Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
  • Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments while maintaining commitment to deadlines
  • Experience in retail, warehouse, or manufacturing is preferred
  • Knowledge of standard software including Excel, Access, Oracle, Essbase, SQL, and VBA skills
  • 1+ year’s experience with technical drawings and/or reading CAD models
  • Certified in OSHA, ANSI, or other Automation Safety Certifications

Responsibilities

  • Support and guide installation of robotics, packaging, and sortation technologies at Amazon fulfillment centers
  • Develop detailed knowledge of the operation of robotic systems and guide installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting
  • Manage technical ambiguity around integration of work cells in fulfillment centers
  • Collaborate with hardware engineering, technical program managers, product managers, and internal customers
  • Travel to project sites and collaborate both virtually and in person to ensure alignment on program status
  • Manage day-to-day project scheduling and budget management
  • Work on continuous improvement activities to enhance project execution
  • Lead teams of other engineers on projects
  • Travel to both live warehouses and new construction sites
