The role is for an SDE 1 on a team developing a unique vulnerability auditing and review platform focused on AI-integrated software. This position involves contributing to the design, development, testing, deployment, and operation of security-focused software systems. The team emphasizes AI safety, security research, and platform engineering within Amazon's innovative environment. Candidates will work on enhancing vulnerability detection capabilities and ensuring the operational health of the platform.

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

• Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain security-focused features for the vulnerability auditing and review platform.
• Build and extend vulnerability detection capabilities for LLM-integrated services and tools.
• Deliver working software features end-to-end, from customer requirements to production deployment.
• Refactor and deprecate existing systems as the platform evolves.
• Develop automated scanning and analysis tooling to identify security vulnerabilities.
• Implement detection mechanisms for adversarial attacks and other LLM-specific threat vectors.
• Collaborate with applied scientists to translate AI safety research into production-grade platform features.
• Own operational health of features by monitoring, alarming, and resolving production issues.
• Identify root causes of operational failures and implement permanent fixes.
• Design software solutions that clarify difficult problems with visible risks.
• Mentor SDE 1s and new team members to accelerate their productivity and growth.
• Work with customers and stakeholders to ensure the platform solves the right problems.
