AWS is looking for a Data Center Civil Engineer to join its design team in Columbus, OH, Austin, TX, or Herndon, VA. This role involves leading civil engineering designs for Amazon Data Centers and working within a diverse team of architects, engineers, and designers. The engineer will have a significant impact on the design of Data Center sites and will be responsible for providing technical guidance and oversight. The position emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning in a unique work environment.

• Professional Engineering registration is required.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial, warehouse, and/or industrial site-civil design is necessary.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
• Knowledge of mission critical equipment and systems, design processes, and construction requirements is essential.
• Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment is needed.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate site design by third-party consultants is required.

• Manage external civil design consultants throughout the Data Center design and construction process.
• Review designs for site layout, grading, power substations, storm water, and utilities.
• Coordinate with internal and external architectural, structural, and MEP design engineers.
• Develop preliminary site layout concepts using Civil 3D, incorporating grading, utilities, and circulation patterns.
• Effectively communicate design standards to project partners.
• Create and maintain project documentation before, during, and after construction.
• Develop and maintain design standards and specifications related to site design for Data Centers.
• Create, review, and release design RFPs for various projects.
• Manage multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously and oversee project-specific cost and schedule variables.
• Lead initiatives aimed at improving cost, quality, schedule, and consistency.
• Travel for site assessments, internal design meetings, and construction reviews.
