Job description

The Sr. Electrical Engineer will be part of the Advanced Manufacturing group at Jacobs, focusing on engineering and design for data center facilities. This role involves collaborating with a multi-discipline team in a dynamic environment to establish design requirements and produce construction documents. The engineer will work on power distribution systems, emergency systems, and low voltage communications in complex industrial facilities. This position offers flexibility in location across the U.S., allowing for a hybrid work setup.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • At least 6 years of experience in engineering design of medium and low voltage distribution systems
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Extensive knowledge of industrial facility design
  • Working knowledge of Revit or BIM software
  • Solid working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide design work for data center facility power distribution systems and other electrical systems.
  • Contribute to team technical collaboration and perform quality reviews of design packages.
  • Assist directly with other portions of the design process and interact with clients and contractors.
  • Manage quality, scope, budget, and schedule for projects.
  • Work closely with the electrical design team and broader multi-discipline team to establish design requirements.
