Job description

The Senior Civil Engineer will work within the Federal & Environmental Solutions business unit at Jacobs, focusing on facility planning and design projects for federal clients, including the US military. This role involves leading civil engineering efforts, ensuring project quality, and mentoring junior staff. The engineer will collaborate with architects and other engineers to develop integrated facility site plans and manage project profitability. Travel to project sites, including international locations, is expected.

Requirements

  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • At least 15 years of progressive responsibility and experience in site development projects, including sealing design documents as the Engineer of Record
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Strong background in plan production and project execution while leading design teams
  • AutoCAD Civil3D design experience
  • United States Citizen

Responsibilities

  • Lead the civil engineering component of facility planning and final design projects.
  • Ensure overall project quality of civil engineering work performed.
  • Manage client service and utilization of assigned staff.
  • Develop labor budgets for civil engineering design efforts.
  • Attend multi-discipline design meetings and interact with clients.
  • Mentor less experienced employees and manage civil design project teams.
  • Supervise topographic and utility survey teams as required.
