Job description
The Drainage Design Engineer role at Jacobs involves utilizing technical and design skills to deliver roadway-related infrastructure projects. The position is part of the Virginia Transportation team, focusing on multi-disciplined transportation projects, including highway and interchange designs. The engineer will be responsible for conducting drainage design for various projects throughout Virginia. This role requires effective communication and collaboration within a fast-paced team environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Previous experience working on transportation and drainage design projects within the state of Virginia
- Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate all drainage design phases of a project with other team disciplines
- Previous experience utilizing Bentley OpenRoads Drainage and Hydraulic Modeling software
- Previous experience creating technical documentation, reports, and/or memorandum
Responsibilities
- Provide drainage design for roadway and highway projects throughout Virginia.
- Conduct storm drainage analysis and design per project requirements.
- Prepare technical reports and memoranda as required.
- Prepare construction plans, estimates, and specifications.
- Collaborate with other project engineers on detailed drainage design.
