Job description
Arcadis is seeking an experienced Staff Wastewater Engineer to join their Resilience Water team in Western NY, with options to work from either Buffalo or Rochester. The role focuses on water and wastewater conveyance and treatment projects, where the engineer will manage design teams and mentor junior engineers. This position emphasizes client development, strategic project execution, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. The engineer will play a vital role in addressing complex challenges related to water resources and environmental protection.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- 5 years of related industry experience in the water/wastewater field
- Master’s Degree in Engineering is preferred
- 10 years of water/wastewater industry-related experience is preferred
- PE License in New York and/or nearby states is preferred
Responsibilities
- Execute a variety of water and wastewater projects while managing design teams.
- Drive client development and strategic positioning for water and wastewater design projects.
- Collaborate with Area Leaders and Client Account Leaders to define project scopes and fee estimates.
- Lead clients and projects through planning, design, and construction phases of treatment plants.
- Create construction documents and project specifications while managing construction oversight.
- Manage a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring adherence to budgets and schedules.
- Support the development of junior engineers and coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Ensure compliance with all Arcadis guidelines, quality, and safety standards.
