The role involves working as a Thermal/Mechanical Engineer within the AWS Hardware Engineering team, focusing on the design of server platforms. The team is responsible for developing innovative cooling and mechanical technologies for large-scale server deployments. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- 7 years of experience in thermal and mechanical design of server technologies or equivalent technology.
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- 9 years of experience in thermal and mechanical design of server technologies or equivalent technology.
- Experience with project management of technical projects.
- Experience with thermal analysis tools such as CFD (e.g., Flotherm, ANSYS Icepak, or similar).
- Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo/ProE).
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
- Experience in systems integration of complex server products.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical and thermal design and development for complex electronic systems.
- Design and validate systems and subsystems to meet program objectives.
- Participate in the cross-discipline design process working with other HW and SW team members to develop optimized integrated solutions.
- Conduct failure analysis and solution validation for product development and fleet systems.
- Manage interaction with overseas resources.
- Provide mentorship and technical reviews to a team of mechanical/thermal design engineers.
