The role involves working as a Senior Software Development Engineer in the AWS Utility Computing team, focusing on the development and management of high-performance computing and database workloads. The team is dedicated to building next-generation technologies that enhance how millions of AWS customers interact with cloud services. Engineers will work on the EC2 Nitro platform, which supports various silicon architectures and emphasizes security and performance. The position requires collaboration with technical leaders to define and implement innovative solutions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
- 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
- Experience as a mentor or tech lead for an engineering team
- 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle, including coding standards and testing
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, IoT, and Productivity Apps services in AWS.
- Build next-generation network management solutions for AWS's large-scale infrastructure.
- Interface directly with system BIOS for bare-metal instances and drive critical system interactions.
- Deliver features and new instance types for customers by working across domains.
- Collaborate closely with EC2 Principal Engineers to define technical direction and implement high-quality code.
