Job description

The AWS Dedicated Cloud Engineer role focuses on creating resilient cloud systems for mission-critical operations within the Region Reliability Engineering & Automation team. This team is dedicated to ensuring the seamless operation of AWS's dedicated cloud regions through proactive reliability engineering and automation. Candidates will engage in innovative problem-solving using advanced technologies like Amazon Bedrock. The position requires collaboration with U.S. Intelligence and Defense agencies to implement secure and reliable cloud solutions.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or above, or Cloud+ or GICSP or GSEC or SSCP certification.
  • 2+ years of systems administration experience in Linux and/or Networking.
  • Strong debugging and systems analysis skills to identify and resolve issues.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills at all levels, from application to network to host.
  • Experience working with at least one scripting language.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud computing technologies.
  • 3+ years of networking experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with support procedures and methodologies for production computing environments.
  • Experience automating routine tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to reduce repetitive tasks and minimize manual intervention.
  • Expand regional coverage for AWS's critical services.
  • Conduct deep dives into system and service interdependencies to identify and resolve challenges.
  • Collaborate with industry-recognized engineers for continuous learning and contribute to a culture of excellence.
  • Partner with U.S. Intelligence and Defense agencies to ensure mission resilience.
