This role involves developing maintainable automation frameworks and improving CI signal quality while collaborating with engineers on AI-assisted testing techniques. The SDET will focus on building scalable, high-confidence test automation and ensuring reliable releases to millions of users. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a technical field, or a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in Node.js/TypeScript with hands-on experience in web test automation.
- Experience testing web applications using modern automation frameworks such as Playwright or WebdriverIO.
- Experience testing APIs, including RESTful and/or GraphQL services, with automated frameworks.
- Deep experience with Playwright or WebdriverIO, including best practices for browser automation.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted quality techniques for test generation and failure analysis.
- Experience working with CI/test infrastructure and improving reliability and feedback speed.
- Strong communication skills to explain technical systems to various audiences.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for web applications and APIs.
- Improve CI signal quality and reduce infrastructure-related flakiness.
- Partner with software engineers to enhance testability and validate component interfaces.
- Own discrete automation modules and CI integrations end-to-end.
- Apply AI/LLM-assisted techniques for smarter test generation and actionable quality insights.
- Collaborate with agency or vendor SDETs to ensure automation remains portable across teams.
Benefits
- Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
