·FY 2025Job description
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for ensuring electrical integrity across aircraft interconnected systems, focusing primarily on harnessing and supporting electromechanical assemblies. This role involves developing and enforcing harness design standards to address issues like noise and crosstalk. The engineer will work closely with various hardware sub-systems and support teams to innovate and solve complex problems. The position is part of the System Integration Team, which collaborates with multiple engineering disciplines to enhance reliability and reduce costs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a relevant engineering discipline
- 3+ years of experience in a design or systems architecture role working with wire harnesses and related test systems
- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, functional test procedures, and root cause investigations
- Experience with setup, control, and automation of lab equipment like spectrum analyzers and high-speed oscilloscopes
- Experience with harness design and testing methods for complex systems
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-461, IPC/WHMA-A-620, or similar EMI and harnessing standards
- Strong cross-functional communication skills with avionics, systems, test, and harness manufacturing teams
Responsibilities
- Lead analysis and mitigation strategies for signal degradation and electromagnetic interference in harnesses and electromechanical systems
- Define and validate grounding schemes and shielding approaches for sensitive signal lines
- Specify technical requirements for shielded vs unshielded cable use and twisted pair implementation
- Partner with flight and test engineering teams during early design phases to influence harness design and interconnects
- Serve as the go-to owner for root cause analysis of harness anomalies relating to electrical integrity
- Develop interface control documents, block interconnect diagrams, electrical schematics, and a signal integrity standards library
Benefits
- Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
