As an Amazon Field Engineer, you will provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers, focusing on design, maintenance, and operational excellence. You will engage with diverse teams and serve as the fire protection engineering expert, ensuring safety and efficiency across multiple projects. The role combines office and field work, allowing you to interact with various stakeholders and contribute to innovative solutions. This position requires a US citizen with the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities
• Experience in commissioning
• Professional Engineer License
• Experience with building codes and regulations for your region
• Experience problem solving and conducting root cause analysis
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings and specifications

• Serve as the recognized fire protection engineering expert for a broad range of fire and life safety issues.
• Develop relationships with authorities having jurisdiction to provide safe and effective solutions.
• Perform design and equipment submittal review for new Data Centers in your region.
• Troubleshoot and conduct Root Cause Analysis for site and equipment failures.
• Mentor and train customers and partner engineers in fire protection principles.
• Own the conceptual design for existing data center upgrades and design solutions.
• Interface with internal teams to promote standards for consistency and reliability.
• Develop innovative solutions for AWS’s data centers.
• Initiate and lead engineering audits including on-site visits.
• Act as resident engineer during new construction projects.
