Job description

The AirPods team is looking for an Analog Systems Engineer to lead the design and development of next-generation AirPods products. This role focuses on power and battery management subsystems and involves cross-functional collaboration and technical decision-making. The engineer will engage in the full product development lifecycle, from architecture and design to validation and mass production. The position requires a deep understanding of analog and mixed-signal hardware design.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 7+ years of experience in analog/mixed-signal hardware design
  • Deep understanding of power mixed-signal building blocks such as PMIC, DC-DC converters, and battery management
  • Strong skills in analog/mixed-signal analysis including simulations and timing analysis
  • Proficiency in bench testing and equipment usage for silicon and system validation
  • Experience in designing low-power, high volume consumer products
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Matlab and Python
  • Familiarity with SPICE-based simulation tools
  • Familiarity with digital interfaces such as I2C, SPI, and UART

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture and performance optimizations for power and battery management subsystems
  • Perform design analysis and simulations including tolerance analysis and noise integrity
  • Assist with component selection and schematic/layout reviews with hardware teams
  • Partner with silicon vendors on PMIC and charger IC development
  • Support hardware and firmware bring-up, characterization, and debugging
  • Author hardware specifications and review vendor datasheets
  • Support hardware prototyping and engineering demos
  • Drive product and manufacturing validation through DVT and into mass production

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life.
