Job description
The Operations Engineer role at Amazon involves addressing systemic engineering challenges in First and Middle Mile Operations. The position requires collaboration with internal and external teams to develop innovative solutions for sortation and distribution systems. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 4+ years of experience as an industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at the intermediate level
- Experience working with and managing third-party vendors
- Experience with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing
- Experience developing and implementing standards, policies, and programs or equivalent
- Experience with complex automated material handling equipment and packaging technologies
- Master's degree or above in engineering or equivalent STEM field
- Experience working with material handling equipment safety standards
- Experience in capital project management involving ownership of engineering design projects
Responsibilities
- Coordinate efforts to develop optimal solutions and processes for the sortation and transportation network.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions quickly.
- Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing and communicating with partners.
- Utilize effective communication skills to execute the vision and detailed roadmap.
- Travel 50 - 70% of the time as required.
