Job description
Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) is looking for a mechanical design engineer to develop modular data-collection systems for various environments within the Amazon network. The role involves collaborating with diverse teams, including machine learning scientists and fulfillment associates, to create automated solutions that enhance fulfillment efficiency. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and engage with a range of customers, from executives to warehouse staff. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- 8+ years of engineering experience
- Knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD experience
- Experience leading cross-functional projects and managing large, complicated programs
- Experience integrating cameras, optical systems, sensors, and/or material handling equipment in a warehouse environment
Responsibilities
- Conceive, develop, prototype, and deploy modular data-collection systems at scale
- Design mechanical systems for mounting cameras, optics, and other sensors
- Engage with customers ranging from executives to developers and warehouse operations staff
- Work in a fast-paced environment where delivery time for new products is typically measured in months
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
