The Data Center Plant Engineer, Mechanical role at Google focuses on designing and operating sophisticated electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems within data centers. Requirements

  • 9 years of experience in Electrical, Mechanical/HVAC, or controls in an industrial/commercial environment.
  • Experience working in data centers, hospitals, power plants, or transmission operations is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with contractors performing maintenance or upgrades on data center systems.

Responsibilities

  • Drive efforts to test, validate, improve, and certify new processes for critical equipment operation.
  • Lead compliance activities for data centers and analyze compliance results globally.
  • Monitor data center systems operations and control site activities to minimize risk.
  • Ensure adherence to facility maintenance and standard programs while improving policies.
  • Develop strategies to minimize operational costs and reduce environmental impact.
